The debates about Shopify and the superiority of BigCommerce are endless. Let’s admit that both platforms impressed in their own way and had snowball skills to stand out from the rest. However, if you are getting into e-commerce for the first time, this debate could indeed have an impact. Obviously, the many reasons one has when choosing a platform for your e-commerce startup are questionable. Some of the rudimentary fields are simple usability, faster loading time, easy integration into the payment gateway, and above all, a simple and fast shopping experience for your users. Above all, you have to make sure that your customers can love your e-store at first glance. To strengthen all of these factors, here’s why Shopify development is looking for a simple, yet highly productive e-commerce platform:

    1.  Free, Paid & Customized Templates from Shopify

Shopify scores significantly higher than BigCommerce when it comes to providing free themes. It offers a broader selection with 24 free templates, with BigCommerce, however, there are only 7. Not only a higher number, the designs of Shopify are, in contrast to BigCommerces, much less expensive. Shopify also offers 130 topics compared to BigCommerce with 60 more. The individualization of Shopify enables the knowledge of ‘Liquid’, a simplified language with HTML compared to BigCommerce, which enables standard knowledge of HTML and CSS.

    2.  Pricing

Shopify allows you to choose cheaper starting pricing plans for the Starter and Lite versions at $14 and $9 per month, respectively. In contrast, BigCommerce pricing plans start at a higher $ 29.95 price / month with the standard version.

    3.  Payment Gateway

Shopify supports over 70 payment gateways compared to BigCommerce at 30. However, the common between them are PayPal, Worldplay, QuickBooks etc.

    4.  Better Product Category Management

Shopify allows you to manually add products and create categories. You can use feature-rich additions to collections and categorize them by title, weight, tags, price, etc. As far as BigCommerce is concerned, this function needs to be added.

    5.  Mobile

Shopify defines mobile friendliness in its most beautiful form. And that shows not only its responsive technology but also its greater propensity for apps. Despite BigCommerce’s responsive website delivery, there is no app version (but it did exist). What else is there? Shopify apps are available on both iOS and Android.

It cannot be denied that Shopify performs as a better e-commerce development platform. To have a short conversation about the concerns of your e-business, you can reach us at CGColors.
