How to Integrate SharePoint with MS Outlook

  2. Outlook Desktop App

Note: You cannot integrate SharePoint with online Outlook app.

Secondly, you should be clear that only following features from SharePoint will sync with Outlook after integration.

  1. Calendar
  2. Tasks
  3. Contacts
  4. Discussion Board
  5. Document Library

Follow 4 easy steps to integrate SharePoint & Outlook

Step – 1: Click on relevant tab (i.e. Calendar, Tasks e.tc.) on SharePoint

Simply navigate to the tab for the feature you want to integrate with the outlook on the navigation bar and open it.

Step – 2: Click on the “Connect to Outlook” icon

After clicking the relevant tab e.g. Calendar, you will find numerous options in the drop down. From these options, you need to click Connect to Outlook and boom!

Step – 3 Allow Program to Run

As soon as you click on “Connect to Outlook” option, a window will pop up requesting permission to run a program on your PC. It will appear like below.

Click on “Allow”.

Step – 4 Enjoy!

Yes, enjoy! Enjoy the convenience of opening, editing and updating your files on SharePoint from Outlook.

You can view the added feature side by side with the outlook feature as illustrated in the example below.

Moreover, you can view all the SharePoint features by clicking the list in Folder View option in the outlook.
